Pastor Navarro is married to Maritza, who is employed as a primary school teacher. Teachers are paid even less than pastors. They have three children in school, about ages 17, 15, and 12 (as of July 2007). The family works together at cottage industries, producing and selling greeting cards, wall hangings, decorations, and seasonal items. Benjamín helps in the production and is in charge of marketing. He is interested in the development of mini-businesses and computation and would like to find foreign markets, involve more people and really get a business going.

A native of Huaral, just east of Lima, Benjamin was asked to do lay ministry in the congregation of Belén while a Methodist theological student. He served two terms as President of ILEP, from 1992 to 1996 during which time he traveled to Germany and Texas as well as to other countries in Latin America. He is also a graduate of CBT and the pastor of Luz Divina congregation. He is currently Vice President of ILEP.
