Pastora Torres is Director of SEPEC, an educational and pastoral program formed by Protestant churches for evangelization, social work and development. She is the only ILEP pastor with stable employment outside the congregation. Her ministry is on top of her full time job. SEPEC has spawned self-help initiatives in squatter communities with strong ecumenical grass-roots involvement.

Adita joined the youth group of the Filadelfia congregation, just a block from her home, during high school. What she liked about the Lutheran church was that she was given the opportunity to develop and use her talents within the community. She took on leadership roles and was part of the lay pastoral team. She studied theology in Chile and in Lima and has also done research in Costa Rica. She is now pastor of her home congregation, Filadelfia.
